Corrections log
When an independent review finds an error, or a reader reports one, we fix it and record it here with the date.
Last updated 1 October 2026
These entries come from independent audits, in which a reviewer who did not write a page re-read each cited study abstract and each price source. To report an error yourself, use contact. Our approach is on the editorial policy.
- 29 September 2026: Best longevity supplements. We corrected a creatine trial that was credited to the wrong first author, and said what it actually measured (muscle uptake in a maintenance arm, not memory). The omega-3 row now states the dose the VITAL trial gave: 1 g of fish oil a day, which the trial's later paper puts at 840 mg EPA plus DHA.
- 29 September 2026: Bryan Johnson biological age explainer. We removed an October 2021 start date and a named newspaper source that our reference did not support, and kept only what the source states.
- 29 September 2026: Joovv, Mito Red Light and PlatinumLED reviews. We corrected the dating of the independent reviewer's article, quoted Joovv's full regulatory indication, and disclosed that the only independent tester has affiliate ties to some of the brands. A new "who measured it" section on the Mito page says so plainly.
- 29 September 2026: Best NMN supplements. We corrected a trial credited to the wrong author, added its null result for muscle recovery, and fixed a conflict-of-interest statement and an unverifiable date. The page now reflects the FDA's September and December 2025 letters on NMN's status.
- 29 September 2026: Stelo vs Lingo. We corrected a price shown as a range: Stelo is $89, with $99 as the struck-through price. We also changed "the one independent study" to "the first".
- 29 September 2026: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We replaced a paraphrase that was not the FDA's wording with the FDA's actual statement, dated its 2013 complaint count, and told readers to check the current FDA page.
- 29 September 2026: PEMF therapy guide. The cited review concluded PEMF does not support better acute fracture healing. The page had said only that there was no consensus; it now states the finding.
- 29 September 2026: Oura Ring Gen 3 review. We corrected a verdict that said Oura Gen 3 had the closest HRV of five wearables (the study ranked Gen 4 first) and a claim that it was the best of six for sleep stages, which it was not.
- 29 September 2026: Garmin fenix 7 review and Garmin vs WHOOP. We removed a claim that a Garmin press release lists ECG on the fenix 9, which it does not, and marked WHOOP prices we could not read directly with their sources and dates.
- 29 September 2026: WHOOP vs Oura. The two-year cost table left out WHOOP's 24-month plans; we added them, corrected the ring finishes, reworded a study described as Oura-funded to what its authors disclose, and recomputed every total.
- 29 September 2026: Cold plunge, sauna and massage gun pages. We corrected the Morozko Forge price (the page showed one price for two tub sizes), the Clearlight sauna price (about $7,300 to $7,800 at retailers, not $4,995), a claim that a Sunlighten rival heats the same way for less, and "sold out" claims about massage guns that the retailer's data did not support.
- 29 September 2026: Epigenetic age testing. We removed a licensing-tie claim about one provider that its source did not support, reworded a validation claim for the DunedinPACE clock that no abstract made, and added the study size and the small effect size to the calorie-restriction results.
- 29 September 2026: Urolithin A guide. We corrected a wrong Timeline price: $89 is the monthly-delivery plan and the one-time price is $99. The page, the cost-per-dose dataset and the ladder row on the best-supplements page now agree. We also removed an unsupported claim of a 20% price cut.
- 29 September 2026: Best creatine supplements. The FAQ said creatine raises serum creatinine, citing a meta-analysis whose abstract reports no significant change. We corrected it, downgraded the kidney row to Weak and the memory row to Emerging.
- 29 September 2026: Best omega-3 fish oil. The overall grade for over-the-counter fish oil was Moderate even though three large trials were null. It is now Weak, with Moderate kept only for prescription EPA in its high-risk group.
- 29 September 2026: Best ashwagandha, berberine and curcumin pages. We downgraded ashwagandha's anxiety and stress grade to Emerging because the authors rate their certainty low, stated the liver-injury case series accurately (four of five took other supplements), corrected a berberine interaction figure, and replaced an unsourced blood-thinner claim on curcumin with the cited liver-injury data.
- 29 September 2026: Best taurine, resveratrol, spermidine and CoQ10 pages. We corrected dose ranges that were a meta-analysis subgroup finding rather than a trial dose, added null results that had been omitted (resveratrol, CoQ10), and stated industry ties for authors and trial extracts where their papers disclose them.
- 29 September 2026: Third-party testing in supplements. We corrected our description of Informed Sport's process after reading its own site, labelled two certifiers as secondary-sourced because their sites blocked us, and recounted the dataset: the earlier category counts were wrong.
- 29 September 2026: Best wearables and red light therapy panels. We corrected the Apple Watch SE price, replaced a superseded Garmin battery figure, noted Stelo's struck-through price, and added the older prices on the red-light comparison.
Pages that were checked and needed no change are not listed.
